Kuakata :Daughter of the sea
Kuakata, locally known as Sagar Konnya( daughter of the sea) is a really scenic spot located on the southern most tip of Bangladesh .kuakata in Bangladesh Lata Chapli Union under the kalapara police station of patakhali district about 30 kilometres in breadth . it is 70 km from Patauakhali district headquarters and 320 km from Dhaka. An excellent combination of the picturesque natural beauty, blue sky and the shimmering expanse of water of by of Bangla and the evergreen forest make Kuakata a much Sougth after tourist destination.
The name Kolkata takes its origin of the story of Kua -or well dug on the sea shore by the early rakhaine settlers for collecting drinking water. The Rakhaine had landed on Kolkata coast after being expelled from arakan by the Mughals flowing the first wells, it become a tradition to dig wells in the neighborhood of Rakhaine in homesteads for fresh water supply
Kolkata is one of the unique sport which allow a visitor to watch both the sunrise and the sunset from the betch . that perhaps makes kuakata one of the world most attractive beaches. the long and wide beaches at Kolkata has a typical natural setting .this sandy beach/shop gently into the Bay of and batting there is a pleasant as is swimming or driving.

Kuakata is also a holy land for tha hindus and Buddhists . Each year thousands of devotees come here to attend the festivals "Rash purnima and maghi purnima" . On these two days , pilgrims take holy bath and enjoy going to the traditional fairs.
